Things to Do in Zugdidi

Zugdidi, the capital of Samegrelo, sits about three hours from Tbilisi and works mainly as a staging post on the way to Svaneti rather than a destination in its own right — most visitors pass through on the marshrutka or train connection to Mestia. The Dadiani Palace, a former royal residence with a small museum that includes a death mask said to be Napoleon's, is the one sight worth building in time for if you're stopping over.
