Things to Do in Juta

Juta is a small village beyond Kazbegi, around four hours from Tbilisi on a rough final stretch of road, and exists mainly as a trailhead for hikes into the Chaukhi massif — its jagged granite peaks are unlike anything else on the Military Highway route. The walk up to the Abudelauri lakes, known locally for their differing colours, is a full day out and about; shorter loops closer to the village suit visitors with less time or a lower fitness level.
